August REC report - Permanent Appointments rise for first time in three months
The August 'Report on Jobs' produced by IHS Markit, for the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC), shows a rebound in permanent appointments for the first time in three months in the UK market.
It also clearly indicates that permanent salary growth is starting to quicken and continues to rise in August with panellists citing skills shortages and greater numbers of senior-level placements.
"The continuing tight candidate availability remains a common theme as we all continue to operate in a candidate driven market. However it does seem that our sector is starting to return to pre-Brexit activity levels in UK as people recognise they need to operate in the new landscape we are all faced with, and can not suspend decision making further" commented Sarah Hopkins, Director HopkinsLongworth.
